All sessions rooms will be equipped with a projector and a computer. Our default assumption is that you will use these for your PowerPoint or Pdf presentation. Hooking up of personal laptops is strongly discouraged; if you have special software needs, please contact us. Please come with the files required for your presentation on a flash memory key (USB memory device) and avoid the use of file names like isee2010.ppt, as this may replace your colleagues‘ presentations. Our student volunteers will be happy to help in case of difficulties.
In a typical parallel session of four papers (long presentation), the average time available for each presentation is 15 minutes, leaving time for general discussion afterwards. The time for short presentations should not exceed seven minutes leaving enough time for fruitful discussion. Some sessions where thematic foci were close together consist of long presentations as well as short presentations. In these cases chairs decide on details.
Chairs are invited to come to the room prior to the start of the session. They introduce the session and the speakers, make sure that the time available is divided equally over the papers to be presented, and guide the discussion with the floor following the presentations. The conference program identifies the chairs for individual sessions. In case the scheduled chair does not show up, the actual presenter of the session‘s final paper is expected to take over the role of the chair.
The conference organisers see poster presentations as a very communicative form of presentation and we would welcome a lively debate during the poster sessions. The final programme, which you will receive at the meeting, will have individual poster assignment numbers for each poster that corresponds with a poster board. Please mount your poster next to your number. There are three slots for poster sessions: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 12.30 pm – 2 pm. Please attend the session that has been allocated to you. During the poster sessions we will organize thematic guided tours through the poster presentations according to the conference themes. Thereby we ensure a high visibility and a high possibility for discussion.
